SONIC GAMES have always left their bold impression in minds of gamers. Many people were surprised by the success of Sonic Hedgehog in 1991.But due to the introduction of super Nintendo in later 90's, sonic craze faded. In order to bring gamers back, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was introduced. The plan was a success as it brought back thousand of gamers, even more. As a result Sonic the Hedgehog 2 became one of the greatest SONIC GAMES in the world, and once again Sega Genesis has outdone them again.

The stages are good as they were very well designed and challenging. Special stages were awesome and idea of Super Sonic was introduced. As there were 6 Emeralds in Sonic 1 it changed to 7 in this. If you get all the Emeralds, Sonic could become Super Sonic. Super Sonic is a phase in which it becomes stronger, faster and invincible to enemies. But there is a flaw, it is nearly impossible to prevent being Super Sonic. So if you want to win with a challenge or want to save your rings, if you have to jump and have over 50 rings, you have no choice but to become super sonic.

A new character is introduced Tails, or Miles its technical name. He is a young two tailed fox who is a good friend of Sonic. But disappointment is that Tail's doesn't play any different from sonic and also collecting Emeralds doesn't make him super Tails nor does it change the ending. Also if you end the game with or without emeralds it makes no difference.

The game play is better and smooth. The levels are not much challenging but are much more original than Sonic 1. There are so many level and they all are different. Well talking about graphics, they are much more improved than last game but still very outdated by Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles standards.

The music is catchy and better than Sonic 1.It ads feel of the location and what you are for. All of the music is theme related and especially the chemical plant zone is quiet fun to listen. Also the music in multiplayer mode and single mode is different but I like single mode music more as it involves you more.

Every person who likes Genesis game will absolutely like Sonic Hedgehog 2. No doubt its still one of the greatest hits but my personal title of the best would go to Sonic and Knuckles but still this wonderful masterpiece will and always will be one of the most fantastic games of all times.
