Sonic and the Secret Rings - Wii
Here we have something which has proved itself worthy of the legacy of SONIC GAMES. After a long line of SONIC GAMES which failed to make an impact on the worldwide community, we may finally have a SONIC GAME which could taste success.
Old fans and players of SONIC GAMES can rejoice, for this SONIC THE HEDGEHOG GAME has been fabricated to include the most important aspect of any SONIC GAME, and that is speed. The levels are designed well, and you can nearly rocket through all these for getting that adrenaline rush.
This SONIC THE HEDGEHOG GAME combines the aspects of Arabian nights with its storyline and what we have is something really interesting. Sonic is informed by a genie that an evil genie is trying to escape from the book of Arabian Nights by destroying its world. If he comes to life , then he would be a great threat to sonic's world. That is why this SONIC GAME sees our blue hero traveling through various worlds to collect magical rings which stop the evil genie.
The attraction of the game lies in the level design. The levels have been designed in such a way that they are bound to present a new challenge every time you play them. Several challenges over seven fantasy worlds don't leave you begging for more. The experience is complete and thrilling, and you can play SONIC THE HEDGEHOG GAME repetitively.
The place where the game fails is the controls. Although learning and using them is not a problem, several issues arise when you actually use them. You can control sonic the hedgehog completely while playing this SONIC GAME, but in some levels you just cannot control his forward speed and movement. This leaves everything on your reflexes and how quick you can memorize the obstacles, because guiding sonic through them would require a lot of patience, especially when you cannot control his speed.
The action sequences have been done well, with the controls providing you options of performing various tricks. You can jump and home into enemies and using this combo, you can easily handle large packs of goons. For the fun element, you can use these enemies as jump boards by jumping on and over them to safety and level clearance. Completing levels and challenges give you points and unlock new skills. You can collect these and add to the skill ring. You can have different sets of skill rings and use the one which seems appropriate at the moment. Mostly, these skills are not required much and you would seldom find yourself using anything other than speed and maneuvering in this SONIC GAME.
There is no ONLINE SONIC GAME support for this but you can arrange a multi player and play sets of minigames amongst your friends. These are similar to the most mini games available in other titles of Wii. The level design is great and so are the graphics, much to the pleasure of veteran sonic game players. Overall, a game every sonic fan or regular SONIC THE HEDGEHOG GAMES player should play.
